Boy,14, drowns in dam at Kasoa Ofaakor

A 14-year-old boy, Eric Addo has met his untimely death after he drowned in a dam at Odupong Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

Information gathered indicates that the deceased went to the dam with his friend to swim but Eric failed to return.

The body of the boy was found after eight hours of searching only after elders of the community performed some rituals.

In an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the Assemblyman for Oldtimers Electoral Area, Jones Kwarteng lamented how recalcitrant the youth of the town are, as the authorities in the town have tried all possible means to stop the children from swimming but yield no results.

“This is not the first time such an incident has happened in the area and the same dam. We will organize a task force that will always ensure that people will not swim in the dam.”
