Buhari saddened, shocked, disappointed after terrorists raid Abuja prison

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness and shock at an attack on a meduim security prison in the capital Abuja.

The president’s reaction via a tweet came about 24-hours after the incident that happened at the Kuje Prions on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

“Saddened by the attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje. I am disappointed with the intelligence system.

“How can terrorists organize, have weapons, attack a security installation and get away with it? I am expecting a comprehensive report on this shocking incident,” his tweet read.

According to reports the terrorists stormed the facility and managed to free scores of prisoners including Boko Haram detainees.

Nigeria’s security situation continues to deteriorate as the country heads to keenly awaited February 2023 polls.

Nigeria is grappling with terrorism, armed insurgency, banditry, kidnapping for ransom among other challenges.
