Calbank Plc holds annual thanksgiving service as staff receives awards

As part effort to appreciate God for all the guidance and support throughout the year, Calbank PLC has held its annual thanksgiving service at the forecourt of the multipurpose head office in Accra.

Speaking on the theme ‘’ For thou art with me’’ the senior Pastor of Holy Hill Assemblies of God Rev. Dr. Kwadwo Bempah admonished the staff of the bank to keep their faith in God and asked them to make thanksgiving an integral part of their lives in their bid to receive the blessings of God.

He said ‘You cannot receive the blessings of God if you don’t appreciate what God has done for you you. You are bound to receive more if you are not thankful to God. I am particularly grateful as the bank has made it an annual affair, Calbank will continue to grow and multiplier its customers in the coming years’’.

The managing Director of Calbank PLC, Mr. Philip Owiredu in his new year message said that Calbank as a financial Institution always sets targets at the beginning of the year to ensure the bank continuously become profitable in all its products offerings.

He said ‘’We have prosecuted quite a number of of initiatives in terms of our set targets so at the end of the year we need to ensure that we give praise and thanks to God for what he’s done for us throughout the year however even if we failed to meet our sets targets as we anticipated, we still have to praise God for our lives and as an Institution.

On the issue of COVID-19 pandemic, he mentioned that although it was a new phenomenon which had to be dealt with globally, with the upsurge of a new wave, the bank has put in place several strategies to manage it.

He noted ‘’Managing the first pandemic was quite difficult for a lot of people but we can say that the experiences from the first wave can guide us in its management.

He added “We have been able to put in place measures for both customers and staff to be able to ensure that we can deal with it as far as the COVID-19 is concerned”.

Mr. Peter Owiredu mentioned that the expansion of the retail business of the bank is part of the three year expansion drive.

“As an institution, we have strategic initiatives and as I said we have put together a three-year plan and the core of it is to ensure that we expand our retail business, our people, technology, culture, risk management are key to us’’.

Throughout this year we have prosecuted quite a number of initiatives in terms of what he set to us for the first year; he concluded.

Calbank PLC also rewarded its long service staff as part of the occasion The staff, Board members clad in all white danced and praised God for a successful year.
