Cape Coast magistrate court on Wednesday witnessed the legal separation between Hon. Ernest Arthur, Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive and his wife, Mrs. Hetty Arthur, locally known as Maame Efua.
Hon. Ernest Arthur accused his wife for inability to perform his marital rites. He said his wife has refused to cook for him and also do the washing for him. He therefore filed for divorce at Cape Coast magistrate court.
The wife on his side said, his husband has been sleeping around to the extent that she had a side-chick called Maggie out of wedlock and currently dating a lady by name Abigail who was posted to his office to do her National Service there. She said, the husband filed for divorce upon confronting him and consistently asking him to desist from such an act which is tarnishing his image as MCE.
Report says, the Mayor was not happy with his wife’s complains hence, the suit to divorce her. Hon. Ernest Arthur has removed the E.C.G meter they acquired to operate a cold store a week after the separation without informing her.
They have been married for 14 years besides dating from school time with 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl.
According to the report, neither Ernest Arther nor Hetty Arthur paid spousal support. No other financial details were made publicly available. The report did note that Hetty Arthur does not plan on changing her name.
