Catholic Priest slumps, dies during mass

Rev. Father, Cyprian Kooro, the priest in charge of St. Helen Catholic Church, Ogbogoro, Port Harcourt, has reportedly slumped and died while conducting mass.

The Nation reports that the morning mass was underway on Sunday, when the priest suddenly collapsed.

Other church officials were said to have surrounded him and immediately rushed him to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).

The priest was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

It is not yet known what health issues could have led to his collapse and subsequent death.

The newspaper reports that the priest slumped after the homily.
