Maverick New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has invoked curses on Investigative journalist over the infamous exposé dubbed ‘contracts for sale’.
Mr. Agyapong, who since the documentary was aired has been mounting a spirited defense for his friend Adjenim Boateng Adjei, suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), insists he has not committed any crime as the documentary by Manasseh sought to portray.
“This boy will write on Facebook that a noble man will lose his job. The boy will suffer I swear by my late father Kofi he will suffer. He is led by his tummy and is not as pious as many think. Each time he is broke he goes to take money from Adjenim Boateng Adjei and go to do this to him”, he revealed on Boling Point on Oman Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
He challenged the undercover journalist that he does not go to receive money from an MP who has his office at the Accra Sports Stadium promising to strip him naked.
“Did you know Adjenim Boateng Adjei before the contracts for sale exposé? I will disgrace him and he will never forget…we cannot allow these things to go on in this country”, he said.
According to him, he has no problem if he engages in shady deals and is being exposed but a situation where someone embarks on an image-smearing agenda against him, he will resist with all his blood.
A documentary by Investigative Journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni titled “Contracts for Sale” premiered last Wednesday captured the PPA Boss’ own company under the name Talent Discovery Limited incorporated in June 2017 which has won a number of government contracts through restrictive tendering.
From excerpts of the 46-minute documentary, it also emerged that the company was engaged in the sale of contracts and was ready to sell one worth a ¢22.3 million to a non-existent entity during undercover investigation.
The Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have confirmed that the contracts being sold by Talent Discovery Limited are authentic contracts that have been awarded to the company. The company has had contracts with the Ghana Water Company (GWCL), Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod), Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
