Coronavirus: Virtual Concert might not happen this year – Charterhouse

Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, has said this year’s virtual concert might not come off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government, in order to prevent further spread of the disease, has placed a ban on all social gatherings including mosque and church services and urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures such as regular washing of hands with soap under running water, using alcohol-based hand sanitisers and avoiding touching one’s face, eyes, nose and mouth, as well as wearing nose masks, and also practising social-distancing.

Asked if Charterhouse will engage in virtual concert if things continue till the end of the year, he said: “It could mean that or it could mean that we might not even have it; everything is possible,” he told Nana Kwesi on The Big Show on Class91.3FM on Saturday, 25 April 2020.

According to him, they have to consider having the virtual concert or do it after the ban on social gatherings.

“Because the thing is, like I said, there are a couple of things we need to consider, so, if we don’t see it necessary to organise it now because of the ban, we still have to evaluate the pros and cons of organising it later – either comes to some consideration.”
