The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) made a courtesy call on the Kumasi Secondary/Tech School (KSTS) and Asanteman Senior High School to donate a number of PPEs.
The Head of Wast Management Department of KMA during his presentation on behalf of the Kumasi Major Hon Osei Assibey Antwi, said its part of their social responsibility as an Assembly to intervene in the fight of Covid 19 so as to prevent the spread of the Virus as our final year students are preparing for their final year exams.
A Speech Delivered by Head of Waste Management, Mr Prosper Kotoka, “as we are all aware, the world has been hit hard by the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic, including our country. Ghana is not spared of its devastating effects. Having taken note of the need of the vulnerable including our schools, the Kumasi Major and the Assembly, decided to acquire some Personal Protective Equipment which included; hand sanitizers, veronica buskers and other useful materials to support the final years Students and teachers of Kumasi Secondary / Tech School (KSTS) and Asanteman Senior High School in their fight against covid-19.
Moreover, KMA will always support in any way we can to guarantee the safety of the final year students and teachers understand the metro (Kumasi).
Let me take this opportunity to remind us all to continue to adhere to the preventive ethiquet outlined by the MOH/GHS, including individual hygiene practices at home and at our school places that, the only way we can collectively and effectively combat not just covid-19 but also many prevalent diseases we have been battling with , such as Malaria, Hepatitis, Meningitis, etc.
The Administrators of the KSTS and Asanteman Senior High, received the items with much gratitude to the Assembly for their timely support to the schools.
