Photos+Audio: Two Coconut sellers fight over 50pesewas price reduction; one injured

A coconut seller, identified as Kwaku Boadu, has allegedly inflicted cutlass wounds on one Kojo Mensah, another coconut seller over price reduction from GHc 1.00 to 50 pesewas at Breman Kokoso in the Central region.

Information gathered by Adom News suggested that Mr Boadu, popularly known as Cantona, inflicted the wounds during an argument between the duo over Mr Mensah’s refusal to sell the coconut at the agreed market price.

In an interview with Adom News, the Breman Asikuma District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odonkor- Baah, said investigations were ongoing. He said Mr Boadu would soon be processed for court.

“Kweku believed the price reduction was ruining his business and attacked him but the angry onlookers who could not stand the scene also attacked Kweku injuring him also,” he said.

According to Supt Odonkor, the two sellers are receiving treatment at the Breman Asikuma Government Hospital with police guard and that suspect Boadu would be processed for court after treatment.
