The footballer was lured into the country by agents of Qnet under the guise of securing a deal with a premier league club in Ghana for him.

Upon his arrival in Koforidua, he was taken to a guest house at Bornya a suburb of New Juaben South Municipality, and made to pay 4,500 CFA to facilitate the process. The Qnet agents hunged replica jerseys of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, and Ghana  stars in the room as part of the deception plan.

After many weeks of stay in the Guest House, the victim became suspicious and conducted his own investigation only to be told that he has been lured into Qnet.

He became furious on Thursday, September 16, 2021 and together with other victims from Mali defrauded under the guise of securing well-paid jobs in Ghana, went berserk in the guesthouse and together with the residents in the community they held hostage, a female Malian through whom they came to Ghana to demand refund.

The two Qnet Agents including the female Malian who also claimed that she is also a victim and stranded in Ghana hence sleeping on the streets after similar deception were eventually arrested by the Police and put in custody.

Residents in Bornya says most of the victims of Qnet wandering around in he communities have become security threat as some have been arrested stealing from homes.

Kasapa News Eastern Regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah who has been investigating Qnet and following their activities has reported countless times how Qnet Agents hold their victims hostage in rented apartments in the Eastern Region to scam them under false pretenses.

Victims are made to pay Ghc4,200 under false pretenses as deposit for products online and bring two others to join to enable them enjoy a weekly Commission of $225 which allegedly grows to about $7,000 as the individual continues to work with the company, but this never materializes.

Some of the Qnet Agents in Koforidua are Burkinabes, Togolese, Nigerians, Malians and, Beninois.

They mostly hold their victims from their countries hostage after luring them under false pretense of securing them a well-paid in mining sector in Ghana.

The victims are forced to pay at least $900 CFA equivalent each on arrival and made to deceive two other friends and relatives to come to Ghana using similar modus operandi in a recycled scammed.
