The suspect our sources reveal, was alleged to have engaged in some fraudulent acts and was already on the radar of the police before he was taken from the West Hills Mall and brought to the Regional Police Headquarters.

Police investigators will not give full details about the incident when MyNewsGh.com tried finding out except to say “we are investigating that one as well”.

Meizango which means Chief of Zongo, or more specifically “owner/landlord of Zongo” has however denied his role in the murder of the late journalist as claimed by New Patriotic Party (NPP) executive, Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC.

According to him, he was worried many people were linking him to the incident so decided to turn himself to the police in order to have his peace of mind as people kept pointing fingers at him each time he was in town.

According to the Acting Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwaku Boadu Peprah the suspect approached his men and tried finding out how he could reach the command when he was arrested.

“We had information that the suspect called a Policeman that he has got information that the Accra Regional Police Command is looking for him in connection with Suale’s death and that he wants the Policeman to assist him so the Accra Regional Police will stop pursuing him.

“He asked the Police to meet him at West Hills Mall so he will give some amount of money to give to the police officers who are looking for him. So we asked our men to arrange the Policeman he will call. He went and laid ambush at West Hills Mall and when he came we got him arrested. We brought him to Accra Regional Police headquarters and now we have transferred him to Police CID headquarters because that is where they are investigating that murder case.
