Custom Officer Stationed At Aflao Dies in an Accident

 

 

A Custom Officer stationed at Aflao in the Volta Region has died in an accident in the Eastern Region.

The deceased Custom Officer Alexander Atiso, 30, was in charge of Toyota Matrix Car with registration number GR-3100-09 driving from Kumasi towards Accra.

However on reaching a section of the road at Nkawada No.2  near Nkawkaw stretch of the Accra to Kumasi Highways at about 7:00 am the car collided head-on with Mitsubishi Pajero with registration number  GW-1321- X  driven by Godwin K Sherrie, 60 years, with two other persons- Robert Owoo, 50, and Michael Hylton Dei, 35, onboard.

The Custom officer and the two occupants in the Mitsubishi Pajaro sustained injuries and were rushed to Kenop Care Hospital for treatment in Nkawkaw but Kwame Atiso, the customs officer died shortly on arrival whilst the two others were treated and discharged.

The accident vehicles have been towed and impounded for examination whilst the body of the deceased kept in the same hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.

According to the Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado, the Suspect driver has been arrested to assist investigations
