DCE assures completion of abandoned GetFund project at Techiman-Krobo Nursing College
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Techiman North, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, has assured the Chief of Krobo and Kyidomhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin, that work will soon resume on the long-abandoned GetFund accommodation project at the Techiman-Krobo Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the college’s event grounds to celebrate its recognition as the Best Nursing & Midwifery Training College and to honor the overall best student in the KNUST nursing examinations, the DCE disclosed a renewed commitment from the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council to address incomplete infrastructure projects.
Hon. Adom Johnson acknowledged the efforts of the Chief of Techiman Krobohene and Kyidomhene of the Techiman Traditional Area for bringing the matter to his attention during a recent visit to the palace.
“I think last week or so, I had the privilege of visiting the palace of Nana. During our conversation, Nana presented me with a list of abandoned projects within his traditional area. Nana mentioned the one brought in by our own Hon. Alex Kofi Kyeremeh, the GetFund project that was meant to solve accommodation problems. This project after leaving office did not see the light of the day. Nana took the opportunity to draw my attention to it.” He said.
According to him the Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, had instructed all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region to compile data on all stalled GetFund projects for submission to Accra.
“Nana, I’m happy to tell you that just three days ago, we had a meeting at the RCC, the Regional Minister said that all the MMDCEs should go and compile all the GetFund abandoned projects for onward submission to Accra.
“Yesterday, we submitted the list of projects to the Regional Minister. Nana, I believe we can also support this effort with our prayers. We are hopeful that the new GetFund Administrator and the government of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, who has promised to complete all abandoned projects will ensure these initiatives are finally brought to completion.” He stated
