Dead body gone missing at Dormaa mortuary

A family at Dormaa Ahinkro is chasing the Dormaa mortuary over the disappearance of their deceased relative.

The family had gone to the mortuary to retrieve the body of the deceased relative, Wofa Atta but could not see it.

Rainbow Radio’s Abdul Razak told Nyankonton Mu Nsem that the deceased was kept at the mortuary some few weeks ago after a vehicular accident.

The family planned to bury him yesterday [Tuesday] hence went to the mortuary to retrieve the body but were given the wrong body.

Abdul Razak said the family only realized the body was not that of Wofa Atta when they were preparing it for burial.

They returned the body to the mortuary to have the original body handed over to them but it was nowhere to be found.

The incident has been reported to the police whereas the facility has launched a probe into the matter.

According to authorities, they will interrogate other families who had retrieved bodies in the past weeks to find out if they were handed the wrong bodies.

Meanwhile, the affected family has hinted they will not rest until the body of their brother is found so they will give the departed soul a befitting burial.
