Delay Mines gives Wassa Konkooso Community light for the first time.

 

A community that have being in darkness since creature has now seens light after fighting for connecting their own electricity power from a mining company.

The Economic lives and activities in Konkooso Community is now going to boost as their connected to the national electricity power

According to the people in the community, this project is not by any Government but rather the initiative that the entire people including Nana-nom had with some small scale miners who came into the community for their activities.

The community request from the small scale miners are as follows

Electricity light, Mechanized water
Bridge
Television
Generator
Cement etc.

According to the Managing Director of the Delay mining company, Mr. Douglas Damoah also known as Nana Badu or Obour Yaw, the total cost of all this request amounted to Gh. 600,000.00 which is 6. billions Ghana cedis and over.

The occasion was graced by the MCE of Amenfi East, Hon. Frederick Korankye,
Hon. Boafo Yaw Issac (Assemblyman) The Traditional elders from Wassa Saamang and other high personalities from various communities.

The MCE for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Frederick Korankye in a speech to inaugurate the electricity supply to the Konkooso town said the move formed part of the Traditional elders and the Government’s commitment to improve the livelihood of people in the area
finally urged the entire community to be responsible for using the electricity by paying their light bills and desist from illegal connection.

Nana Kofi “Nipa”, the chief of the Konkooso town also had this to say,
“Today marks an important landmark in the lives of the Chiefs and people of the Konkooso Community and Wass Saamang electral area as well.

While celebrating the attainment of this lifetime desire it’s proper and morally right to acknowledge the efforts and commitment made by the miner, MCE, Assemblyman, contractor and people that has ultimately resulted in our presence here,”.

again, the chiefs and the people should trust the NPP government and he as MCE as well that all other needs of the Konkooso town would be provided to them by the central government under the leadership of Prez. Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

Bringing the occasional to an end, some of the Community residents who spoke to the media expressed gratitude to the Assemblyman and Traditional elders for the move and promised to use the electricity to better their lives.
