Deputy Governor, accused of forgery, perjury

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has been accused of altering his academic records.

According to a series of posts on Twitter as well as some purported documents on social media, it was alleged that while serving as Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi registered for the 2004 May/June Senior School Certificate Examination as a full-time student of Community High School, Mobolorunduro with registration number 4291420/058.

It was also alleged that the Deputy Governor used December 8, 1980 as his date of birth in order to be eligible as internal student of Community High School, Mobolorunduro but he later deposed to an Affidavit For Correction of Date Of Birth on March 9, 2006, at the Federal High Court, Akure, stating that he was born on September 24, 1968.

Reacting to the allegations, the Deputy Governor in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on New Media, Allen Sowore described the development as sponsored media attacks on his person.

Ajayi emphasized that the ploy is not unconnected with the governorship election coming up in the state next year, stressing that some “political job seekers” who were behind the attacks on him are after his job.
