The legislator wants to know why the name of the second gentleman of the land has been embossed on the buses.
In a statement, the legislator posited that the Vice President has a responsibility to let Ghanaians know the source of funds for the purchase of buses inscribed with his name as the donor.
To him, “failure to clarify will only lead to the conclusion that Dr. Bawumia is using entrusted power for personal gain: abuse of power, corruption,” he added.
He said “for the sake of transparency and accountability, the Vice President ought to provide further and better particulars by answering the questions above”.

Did Veep Use Own Funds To Buy Buses For Health Training Institutions, Ghanaians Want To Know
I’ve received several messages and accompanying pictures of buses with the following inscriptions (see attached pictures):
1) College of Health (SEFWI-ASAFO). Donated by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Vice President of The Republic of Ghana; and
2) Nalerigu Nursing and Health Assistant Training School. Donated by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Vice President of The Republic of Ghana.
The questions those who sent these pictures to me are asking are:
a) Why is the Vice President’s name embossed on the buses as having donated them to the health training institutions?
b) Did Bawumia buy these buses from his personal resources or got them through his own private sources?
c) Is it right for Bawumia to have his name embossed on the buses as the donor if the buses were procured with public resources?
For the sake of transparency and accountability, the Vice President ought to provide further and better particulars by answering the questions above.
It is Dr. Bawumia’s responsibility to let Ghanaians know the source of funds for the purchase of buses inscribed with his name as the donor. Failure to clarify will only lead to the conclusion that Dr. Bawumia is using entrusted power for personal gain: abuse of power, corruption.
