Dozens of Buildings Ripped off In Afram Plains North, Atiwa East Districts

About 50 buildings have been ripped off by a rainstorm that hit Afram Kwahu Plains North and Atewa East Districts of the Eastern Region on May 9, 2020.

At Kwahu Afram Plains North, the rainstorm ripped off houses including that of the Ewe Chief in the area, Torgbui Gayibor Clement. Also, facilities such as bus terminal for Metro Mass Transit were dangerously affected.

In Atewa East district many houses were ripped off at Akim Abekoase.

Though no casualty was recorded, about 48 people comprising both young and old have been displaced.

Officials of the NADMO in both Districts are to begin assessments of the incidents today Monday, May 11, 2020.
