Danach B, Communications Director for Friends of Dr. Bawumia in the UK, has come to the defense of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Former Vice President and NPP’s Presidential candidate in the 2024 general elections, amidst criticisms from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leader , President John Dramani Mahama.
The NDC has accused Dr. Bawumia of downplaying urgent economic concerns by focusing on digitalization. However, Danach B asserts that digitalization is a central element of Dr. Bawumia’s economic plan, designed to address critical economic issues through transformative technology.
According to Danach B, Dr. Bawumia’s digital initiatives aim to enhance economic growth, financial access, transparency, and economic inclusion for Ghanaians.
He highlights the success of mobile money interoperability, which has increased financial inclusion by enabling easy transfers across different mobile networks. This initiative serves as a practical example of how digitalization can benefit the country’s economy.
Interestingly, Dr. Bawumia had previously emphasized that digitalization is the driving force behind Ghana’s economic freedom. Now, President John Mahama who debunked such vision has now unveiled a plan to utilize digital means for tollbooth collection, seemingly echoing Dr. Bawumia’s vision.
Danach B expresses strong confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, citing his exceptional qualities, creativity, and innovative approach as critical for Ghana’s development and progress. He believes that Dr. Bawumia is the most suitable leader to lead NPP to success in the 2028 elections and beyond.
According to Danach B, the party should rally behind Dr. Bawumia whenever he decides to run, as his leadership offers the vision and competence needed to propel Ghana forward.
