Bright Botchway, a renowned feminist advocate, youth activist, and social democrat, has come to the defense of Dr. Tanko Rashid-Computer, a dedicated public servant and digital transformation expert.
Botchway asserts that the recent allegations surrounding Dr. Tanko-Computer’s academic credentials are nothing but a desperate attempt to malign a man whose commitment to public service and digital transformation in Ghana is undeniable.
According to Botchway, the controversy surrounding Dr. Tanko-Computer’s academic credentials is a politically motivated distraction, devoid of substance. He argues that Dr. Tanko-Computer is being unfairly targeted, despite his exemplary work at the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and the NDC’s Election and IT Directorate.
Botchway emphasizes that Dr. Tanko-Computer’s competence has never been in doubt, and his contributions to digital inclusion, election technology, and grassroots ICT access have had a significant impact on the country.
He questions the motivations of those behind the allegations, suggesting that they are driven by political opportunism and a desire to smear a hardworking public servant.
The activist also highlights the systemic nature of accreditation issues, arguing that it is the duty of regulatory bodies to engage with institutions, rather than scapegoating individuals who enrolled in good faith. He notes that titles do not define performance, and Dr. Tanko-Computer’s results speak for themselves.
Botchway calls on Ghanaians to rise above pettiness and focus on performance. He urges support for men and women who are working tirelessly to build the country, rather than engaging in character assassination and politically motivated distractions, adding that Ghana’s democracy can move forward, and competent leadership can be allowed to thrive if the country eshew a character of sheer envinees.
