Electricity tariff up by 5.94%, water 2.22%

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced an upward adjustment of electricity and water tariffs.

Electricity is up by 5.94%, while water is up by 2.22%. The increases take effect from October 1, 2019.

A statement issued by the PURC, Monday explained that the increases were determined by the Automatic Adjustment Formula which considers eight factors including inflation, in arriving at the review.
