Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot has expressed his admiration for Shatta Wale calling him his primary role model in the music industry in his recent interview.
During an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Yogot emphasized his dedication to reaching the same heights of success, fame, and fan loyalty that Shatta Wale has achieved.
Yogot noted that Shatta Wale’s journey resonates with him deeply, which is why he looks up to the dancehall star.
He said, “For now, I would say that my role model is Shatta Wale. Yes, it is Shatta Wale. Before I can take a breather in my career, I should be able to attain the level of Shatta Wale.
“I mean who else should I emulate? I have learnt a lot of things from him, to be honest, before deciding to take up music, I had to understand him for a while,” Kwame Yogot told Fiifi Pratt.
One significant lesson Yogot has learned from Shatta Wale is the importance of resilience.
He mentioned that he used to be sensitive to criticism but observing how Shatta Wale handles backlash helped him become more resilient.

“I used to be offended and used to reply insults from fans and internet users, but I reckoned that even my role model, Shatta Wale occasionally comes under backlash, so why should I be offended.”
Additionally, Yogot encouraged other musicians and aspiring artists to learn from Shatta Wale’s career if they want to succeed in the industry.
