Fake policeman Amidu Zakari arrested after months of joining top SWAT operations

A fake Police SWAT unit member, one Amidu Zakari has finally been arrested after several months and weeks of helping effect arrest at various police stations within the Kumasi Metropolis, MyNewsGh.com has learnt.

The Asokore Mampong police gathered intelligence that the said Amidu Zakari had been parading himself as a Police officer bearing a service number, rank and name from the Ghana Police Service.

He bore service number 48602 as General Lance Corporal Ishmael Kusi, stationed at Regional SWAT Unit of the Ashanti Region and sometimes assisted in effecting arrest to the station.

He was lured to Asokore Mampong police station to assist in a similar arrest where he himself was he was arrested.

He was interrogated and he gave his real name as Amidu Zakari and a former Community Police Assistant [CPA] personnel at Taco police station. A pair of handcuff No. 50762 was retrieved from him.

MyNewsGh.com was informed fake Lance Corporal Ishmael Kusi himself unilaterally effects arrests and brings suspects to the police station for detention.

He claimed to be taking part in the ongoing promotional course at the Regional Police Training School at Patase to be promoted to the rank of a Corporal but none of the participants from the District have ever spotted him at the school.

He has through his pretences created an affiliation with most police stations in the Metropolis and often mentioned names of personnel as his Depot mates depending on which police station he finds himself.

He is currently being detained in custody to assist in investigations.
