Farmer kills wife for preventing him from marrying a second wife

A 36-year-old farmer has allegedly killed his wife at Nyangekura, a farming community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the Savannah region.

The suspect, Samba Sochire, according to reports beat his wife to pulp for not giving him consent to marry a second wife.

Some residents who spoke to Adom News said the couple normally quarrel but the last one was very serious.

They said the suspect had resolved to marry a second wife but his wife, Adjoa Lupo, 22 said that will only be over her dead body.

Peeved about her conduct, the angry man, the residents said pounced on his wife and beat her until she was unconscious.

Adjoa Lupo was rushed to the Sawla Polyclinic where she died the next day.

Meanwhile, the Sawla District Police Commander, ASP De-Graft Adjei said the suspect is in police custody and the body of the deceased has been released to the family for burial.
