The Bamiri Zone Chairperson of the Techiman South Cashew Farmers Association, Justice Salia Abdulai, has lauded the John Dramani Mahama-led government for launching the Feed Ghana Program in Techiman, the Bono East Regional Capital.
H.E. John Dramani Mahama officially launched the Feed Ghana Program on April, 12, 2025, at the Techiman Methodist School park. The Feed Ghana Programnaims to boost food production, reduce the country’s reliance on imports, and create sustainable jobs in agriculture and related sectors.
Feed Ghana is a key pillar of Mahama’s broader Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA), which seeks to create jobs, curb food inflation, and enhance livelihoods through sustainable agricultural practices.
In an interview with our reporter, Justice Salia Abdulai described the program’s launch as a blessing for Techiman and its surrounding farming communities. He revealed that the program has already inspired him to take personal steps toward participating in the agricultural transformation agenda.
“The launch of the Feed Ghana Program in Techiman is a clear testament that our prayers have been answered by God. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the President and the Minister of Agriculture for choosing Techiman as the host for this important initiative.”
“We, the cashew traders of Techiman, warmly welcome the Feed Ghana Program in good faith. I urge everyone to embrace this program wholeheartedly. As we speak, I have already prepared a site where I will begin rearing poultry as part of my contribution to the program.” He said
He further explained that H.E John Dramani Mahama has already demonstrate his commitment to farmers and improving the country’s agriculture sector with the launch of the Feed Ghana Program .
“Farmers are the backbone of our nation, and through the launch of the Feed Ghana Program, H.E. John Dramani Mahama has shown that he values and supports us. For that, we are truly grateful.” He stated
He also spoke about the economic importance of cashew and expressed optimism that farmers would continue to benefit from better prices under the current leadership.
“The fact that the program was launched here in Techiman gives me strong confidence that we will also receive our fair share of its benefits. This year, under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the price of cashew has remained stable, and I strongly believe that next year will be even better.” He said
