The Member of Parliament for Kintampo North, Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah, popularly known as Jakala, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for keeping his promise to launch the Feed Ghana Project, an initiative aimed at tackling food insecurity and youth unemployment through agriculture.
President John Dramani Mahama, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, launched the Feed Ghana Program in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital. The event was chaired by the President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Basa Traditional Area, Nana Owusu Sakyi III.
Speaking to the media after the official launch Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah revealed that the successful rollout of the initiative is proof of the government’s strong commitment to the agricultural sector.
“The President promised to initiate the Feed Ghana Project to tackle food insecurity in the country, and he has fulfilled that promise by officially launching the program. This clearly shows that the President and his government are committed to improving the country’s food security while also addressing unemployment through agriculture,” he stated.
He further explained that skepticism surrounding the project has been put to rest, as many who once considered it a political gimmick now witness its real-time implementation.
“Many people thought the Feed Ghana Project was just a political gimmick, but today, the President has proven to the entire world that he meant every single word he said during the campaign period. The government will provide fertilizers, seeds, and other farm inputs for individuals as well as institutions to ensure the success of the program,” he added.
Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah used the occasion to encouraged Ghanaians, especially the youth, to take full advantage of the government’s support and actively participate in the initiative to transform the country’s agricultural economy.
