Fijai chief escapes from masked men

Barely four days after a Paramount chief in the Western Region was abducted and assaulted by some unidentified masked men, there has been yet another attempted attack on another prominent chief in the Region

The Chief of Fijai, Barima Ekow Gyesa, who doubles as the acting President of the Sekondi Traditional Council, claims some unidentified masked men in a 4-Wheel Drive vehicle came to his house in the evening on Wednesday to ask of his whereabouts from his daughter

The daughter told them her father was not around after she had contacted father in the room.

The chief, who narrated the incident to Connect FM’s OMANBAPA morning show host Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, said he quickly placed a phone call to the Takoradi Police Commander who advised him to lodge a complaint with the Sekondi police

The Western Regional SWAT team moved in to help the chief and the family relocate only for the unidentified men in vehicle to return late in the night and attempted breaking the door of the chief’s residence.

They, however, bolted after neighbours raised alarm.

There is a long-standing feud between the chief and his queenmother which has resulted in some minor clashes in the past.
