Fire Destroy Parts Of Accra Again

Slum-dwellers at Opeibea a suburb of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana have been rendered homeless after a ravaging fire has destroyed their makeshift structures on Sunday.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) came to their aid to calm down the inferno to prevent it from spreading to other buildings around the area.

Several properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis has been totally destroyed by the Sunday fire.

The Ghana National Fire Service has meanwhile commenced an investigation into the exact reason why the place caught fire.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan the Member Of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon has this evening responded to Victims of the Legon Village Fire Outbreak.

Present at the site were officers of the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).

The Honorable Member of Parliament used the opportunity to express her heartfelt sympathy to the victims who had lost their properties to the outbreak.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has also assured them of her support to help mitigate their loss.
Currently, food and basic relief items have been provided to enable the victims to pass the night in a much conducive environment as further steps are taken to remedy the situation.
