Former Constituency Secretary Congratulates John Mahama and Lawyer Emelia Ankomah on Their Victory

As a former constituency secretary, parliamentary hopeful, and member of the NDC Professionals Forum (Proforum), I am thrilled to congratulate John Dramani Mahama on his well-deserved victory in the 2024 presidential election. I also extend my warmest congratulations to Lawyer Emelia Ankomah on her hard-won victory as the Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East.

John Mahama’s tireless efforts to connect with the people, listen to their concerns, and provide solutions to the country’s challenges have paid off. His dedication to the welfare of Ghanaians is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that he will work tirelessly to fulfill his campaign promises.

According to Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Spokesperson for the John Mahama 2024 Campaign, “Ghanaians have spoken out in a way that none of us even anticipated. This whole 56.55% win is actually a vote of no confidence in the New Patriotic Party and President Akufo-Addo.

Lawyer Emelia Ankomah’s perseverance and determination, despite facing challenges in her previous two attempts, are a testament to her strength and commitment to serving her constituents. Her victory is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication to the people of Upper Denkyira East.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also made significant gains in the Central Region, thanks in large part to the efforts of Professor Richard Asiedu, the NDC Central Regional Chairman. His leadership and strategic planning have been instrumental in securing victories for the party in the region.

Furthermore, Professor Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s influence has been instrumental in the election of five female MPs in the Central Region. As the running mate of John Mahama, she has been a powerful advocate for women’s empowerment and gender equality. According to John Mahama, “Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will, God willing, be Ghana’s first female Vice President in January 2025.

I must also commend the efforts of General Mosquito, the National Chairman of the NDC, who campaigned tirelessly in all constituencies across Ghana, contributing significantly to the party’s victory. Additionally, Hon. Ato Forson’s leadership as Minority Leader has yielded more seats for the NDC in Parliament, making the party the majority in the 9th Parliament.

As a former elections director, Upper Denkyira East 2008, former constituency secretary, and member of the 2024 Upper Denkyira East constituency campaign team, I am proud to say that my party, the NDC, has won both the parliamentary and presidential.
