Former Ningo- Prampram MP E.T Mensah Dead

Former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, E.T. Mensah has passed on at 77. E.

Available source says ET. Mensah died in South Africa on Sunday night after small illness.

The former Member Of Council of State ,Mr Enoch Teye Mensah was born on 17 May 1946.He Served as a Minister of Youth and Sports in the erstwhile John Jerry Rawlings administration and became a Member of Parliament from January 1997 to January 2017.

He left behind seven children.

During the political epoch of PNDC, he also served as the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

He became a member of Parliament on January 7, 1997 on the ticket on the ticket of NDC in the Ningo-Prampram constituency and held the seat till January 6, 2017.

He again served as Minister for Youth and Sports in former President J.J. Rawlings era for two consecutive terms. In January 2010, after a cabinet reshuffle, President John Evans Atta Mills appointed him Minister for Employment and Social Welfare. On 12 February 2021, E.T. Mensah was elected as the representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of State.
