GARAGES CHAIRMAN DECLARES SUPPORT FOR BAWUMIA, ADVOCATES FOR LOCAL PRODUCTION OF CAR BATTERIES

The chairman of Kumasi magazine Garages (zone 18), Musah Malik Wu-stars, has declared support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and advocated for the local production of car batteries.

He said that following the discovery of lithium (a material used in car battery production) in the country, the government and entrepreneurs should consider going into the production of lithium car batteries locally to help boost the nation’s socio-economic development.
His declaration follows Dr. Bawumia’s outlining visions he recently read to Ghanaians where he described the Vice President as a man of vision.

In an interview with Asona Dehyie Kwateng, Chairman Wu-Stars said the auto industry used lithium batteries, and Ghana could use its lithium raw material for the production of car batteries locally.

He noted that the poverty gap was a technology gap and that no country could develop without technological growth.

He said Ghana needs to learn from the experiences of Asian Tigers such as Malaysia and Singapore, adding that “it is important for us to mobilize our human capital for the country’s technological advancement.”

“He, therefore, calls for the creation of an environment that promotes engineering design and manufacturing and rewards a culture of innovation. He further added that as a nation, we need to always champion new ways of doing things.

The chairman posited that, with the vision of the vice president, the association has declared their unflinching support for him in the 2024 elections.

“Therefore, I appeal to the media to have more such engagements to increase technological discourse in the country”. He said.
