More big names exposed in coup plot, BNI to pick them up this week

More names of prominent persons including top politicians are emerging as persons belonging to a group ‘Take Action Ghana’ in which the alleged coup plotters were fished out.

MyNewsGh.com has gathered that officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) are on the heels of these individuals who are subjects of interest in the ongoing investigation into the foiled coup plot.

Members of the group including top politicians are being interrogated over their alleged involvement in the case that is currently pending before the Kaneshie District Court in Accra.

Lawyer for Dr Fredrick Yao Mac-Palm who is the prime suspect, Victor Kojogah Adawudu is however wondering why the security agencies are trampling on the fundamental human rights of persons for belonging to a social media platform.

He corroborated what has been gathered by MyNewsGh.com that more names are emerging in connection with the alleged plot but insisted that the security agencies are violating the rights of his clients and several others.

“Everybody who is believed to be on the platform which is a social media platform is being targeted. Today when I went there they were about five of such people are on the platform. I think what is being done is a comic relief. Does it mean that you cannot be on a social media platform and what was the content”, he asked on Accra-based Joy Fm.

Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm owner of Cidatel Hospital and his two accomplices – Mr. Ezor Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Mr. Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu (aka BB or ADC) are currently in the custody of the BNI over the alleged plot.

So far, eight persons including Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Godwin Nii Ankrah, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akapewu, Lance Corporal Baba Ibrahim, Lance Corporal Seidu Abubakar and one WO2 Esther Saan aka Mama Gee of the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) are in the grips of the police.

The rest are a senior military officer, Colonel Samuel Kojo Gameli, together with a civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Force, Gershon Akpa, were put before court and remanded in BNI custody.
