He had a successful year there at age 12. That was when he represented Ghana at the Milos under 12 and Ghana’s team placed 3rd in the All African Games Competition.
On 6 February 2016, George was called up to the 40 men squad of Ghana Under 15. However, he remained unused in the eventual 0–1 in the friendly match defeat. The excuse for him not playing was that, he was not built enough looking at the opponents they met.
George later joined Sekondi Hassacas youth team on July 12, 2017. He made his professional debut against Sekondi Eleven Wise. He was then in his final year at Senior High School at Aburi Secondary School and took a time off in football that year in 2018 to write his final exams.
On 27 July 2019, George joined Versa Soccer Academy in Accra in a two year contract. He made his debut in the competition on 23 August, starting in a 4–1 win over Accra Heart of Oak youth club.
After playing the entire game and breaking into the starting lineup, he managed to be in the team for almost two years as one of their key players until he returned to Takoradi due to a misunderstanding with former players John Paintsil and Charles Taylor of Ghana’s Kotoko and Heart of Oak who took over the team as coaches.
In 2021 George Mensah joined Anaji United in the Ghana’s first Division League Zone where he quickly fit into their first eleven squad becoming their main midfielder. His first game was with Sekondi Eleven Wise but they lost 1:0 to the home team. His contract ended two years ago in 2023 but he’s still with them as a free player.
