GES AND MINISTRY OF EDUCATION URGED TO INTRODUCE NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL WEEK IN THE BASIC SCHOOLS AS IT IS FOR SPORTS, CULTURE, READING AND SCIENCE & MATHS

The headteacher of Afedzi D/A primary school and doubles as the CEO of Showboyz Farms in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region Mr. Isaac Agyiri (Showboy) has made a passionate appeal to the Ghana education service and the ministry of education to consider the introduction of national agricultural week celebration in the basic school level as they have set aside one week celebration for Inter Basic Schools Sports competition, cultural display and reading festival in all the basic schools in the country.

Mr. Isaac Agyiri expressed worry that agricultural which is the backbone of the Ghanaian economy has been given insignificant attention in all the levels of our education.

Mr. Isaac Agyiri (Show Boy) also mentioned that, if the government had put proper mechanisms in place to boost the Agric sector, Ghana could have raised the $3billion from the Agric sector only without going to IMF which has come with its own beheading conditionality on the country.
