Ghana Armed Forces employs driver who rescued 17 people out of collapsed church building

A taxi driver known as ‘Cote D’Ivoire has been honored for his phenomenal gutsiness after he single-handedly extricated 17 people from the wreckage of a collapsed 3-storey church building at Akyem Batabi in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Pursuing the information of his escapade at the scene ,which the Military were also deployed to rescue and retrieve the dead, his picture went viral on social media.

The brave driver whose real name is Kwabena Boahen, as a mark of his bravery has been called up by the Ghana Armed Forces as a civilian employed.

Akyem Batabi Church Collapse

The church well known as the Church of Prosperity, situated at Akyem Batabi toppled over on Wednesday and has since claimed 20 lives as at the last count on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the Founder of the Church of Prosperity, Prophet Isaac Ofori, popularly known as Akoa Isaac, is assisting the Akyem Oda Divisional Police Command to investigate the incident.
