Ghana music needs a boost – K.K. Fosu

Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, popularly known in the music industry as K.K. Fosu, has asserted that it is high time we modified and pushed highlife music to the world.

Asked by Foster Romanus on The Late Nite Celebrity Show about the reception of highlife music being performed in other countries, he replied ‘’People love Ghana music but we need to push it more. I think it’s about time we sell highlife outside. People need to take highlife serious out there but it all depends on us here. We need to better our sound quality and we need promotions out there as well.’’

He went on to commend artistes like Kuami Eugene and Kidi for helping to push our indigenous Ghanaian music (highlife) with their talent.

The highlife legend clarified that there are types of highlife like ‘Borga’ Highlife like that of Daddy Lumba’s and afro-highlife among others so even though our new artistes are not doing highlife the old way, it is still the same Ghanaian highlife.
