Ghanaians will continue streaming Nigerian songs if artistes don’t stop producing trash – Sheldon to D Black

Popular YouTuber, Kwadwo Sheldon believes fans are not under any obligation to listen to or stream Ghanaian songs if it’s of a low standard.

His comments are in reaction to D Black‘s complaint that Ghanaians have chosen Nigerian music over their own local content.

In an earlier development, DBlack was displeased after discovering that the top 20 songs on Apple Music in Ghana have been dominated by Nigerian songs.

The Black Avenue boss took to social media to vent after carefully analyzing the charts.

But in a sharp rebuttal to D Black‘s statements, Sheldon said although Ghanaians have the desire to support local talents, they easily get discouraged by the sort of songs being churn out lately.

According to him, most Ghanaian songs do not have great content.

Kwadwo Sheldon also maintained that until Ghanaian musicians master, polish and invest heavily in their craft, fans will have no option than to continually stream Nigerian music.

In an audio making rounds on social media, the YouTuber said;

“There is this sense of entitlement that runs through the mind of Ghanaian artistes. They feel that once they put out the content, we must support them regardless of how poor the song is. I have said it on several platforms that I dont subscribe to that support your own nonesense. If the song is trash, I’ll tell you. I wonder whether these artistes usually think about some of the songs they usually put out. You release rubbish and tell us to consume it. consume what? Nobody owes you shit in this country. Nigeria songs are nice, they are pleasing to the ear and of good quality,” he stated.

“If your songs are not topping charts on Apple music, focus on the radio stations. They also have a chart,” he added.
