Ghana’s Kamal Sowah signs new deal with Leicester City

Versatile Ghanaian teenager, Kamal Sowah, has signed a new long-term deal with Leicester City after a fruitful negotiation, the club has announced.

Last season, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder was loaned to Belgian side, OH Leuven, where he helped them secure promotion to the Belgian topflight.

“Talented young midfielder Kamal Sowah has signed a new long-term deal with Leicester City Football Club”, the club’s official statement read.

He joined the Foxes from Ghana side Right to Dream in January 2018 and has had an impressive loan spell at OH Leuven and will again continue his development with the Belgian side this season.

Sowah, who can also fit in as a winger, made 29 appearances for OH Leuven last term as they were promoted to the Jupiler Pro League.

This season, Sowah has made six appearances–including a 1-0 win over Standard Liège in which he scored the only goal.

Next up for OH Leuven and Sowah is a trip of KAA Gent on Saturday afternoon as they look to build on a positive start to the season.

Sowah is yet to represent Ghana at any level.
