‘God will take care of me’ – Koku Anyidoho ‘rejects’ Mahama appointment

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has dismissed any possibility of him taking up an appointment in the incoming John Dramani Mahama-led government.

According to the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, he does not need an appointment from the incoming president to survive, as he strongly believes that protecting the legacy of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills is sufficient for him.

“Once again: I don’t want any appointment in John Mahama’s government. God will take care of me for as long as I keep the legacy of President Atta-Mills alive,” he wrote in an X post on December 27, 2024.

After suffering defeat to the party’s current National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, in 2018 for the NDC’s general secretary role, Koku Anyidoho has been at loggerheads with key leaders of the NDC, including former President John Dramani Mahama and the current chairman.

While some have interpreted his longstanding criticism of the party leadership as bitterness, Koku Anyidoho has vehemently refuted this, insisting that his criticism is in the interest of the party.

In response to some NDC supporters who have been targeting him following the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections, Koku Anyidoho has emphasized that he does not need the incoming government to survive.

“For the record; I never served on any Board under President Mills and President Mahama. So, please don’t laugh yourself out of existence if you’re thinking I will not serve on any Board under the 2nd term of JM. God will keep me upgraded,” he wrote in another post.
