Green Generation Farms champions biosecurity for healthy chickens and egg

The Production Manager for Green Generation Farms Ltd, Mr. Richard Ofori-Panin, has highlighted the company’s commitment to biosecurity as a key measure in producing healthy poultry and eggs.

Speaking on the farm’s approach, Mr. Ofori-Panin explained that the use of drugs in treating birds is minimized. He added that with proper biosecurity measures, the birds remain healthy, reducing the need for antibiotics.

“At Green Generation Farms Ltd, we minimize the use of drugs in treating our birds, as we strongly believe in biosecurity to protect them from infections and diseases.

“With proper biosecurity measures, our birds remain healthy, which significantly reduces the need for antibiotics. Antibiotics can have negative effects on consumers, and since our goal is to produce high-quality, healthy chickens, we limit their use.”

He also assured that the farm’s eggs are equally healthy, noting that healthy chickens lay healthy eggs.  “Our eggs are equally healthy because healthy chickens lay healthy eggs. Whether it’s our eggs or chicken, our products are safe, nutritious, and of the highest quality, as we never compromise on biosecurity and quality control.”

He further advised fellow poultry farmers to rethink the over-reliance on antibiotics and medicines in their farms. “Many farmers tend to use antibiotics as a first solution, but this can compromise the health of the birds and eventually affect consumers,” he warned. “Focusing on proper sanitation, secure housing, balanced nutrition, and routine vaccination programs can go a long way in preventing diseases without heavy reliance on drugs.”

Mr. Richard Ofori-Panin stressed that implementing strict biosecurity measures not only ensures healthier birds but also reduces production costs in the long term.  He urged farmers to adopt preventive measures rather than reactive treatment.

The Production Manager for Green Generation Farms Lt,  encouraged poultry farmers to prioritize the quality of their birds and eggs, noting that consumers are increasingly aware of healthy, drug-free products.

”When birds are healthy, farmers spend less on medicines and avoid losses from disease outbreaks, poducing healthy poultry is not just good for business; it’s a responsibility to the community and the nation.”
