Help me get my land back before I die – Woman begs IGP

A 78-year-old woman, Dede Nagaa Tagoe who is losing her parcel of land to land guards at Tuba, a suburb of Kokrobite in the Ngleshie Amanfrom Municipality is pleading with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for help.

According to her, the piece of land she bought in 2002 from Nii Ardey Nkpa VI has been resold by land guards in collusion with some elements within the Ghana Police Service.

When the news team visited the said land, workers were busily erecting a structure in defiance of a court order to cease work until the case is determined.

Speaking to Starr News, 78 year old widow Dede Tagoe and her daughter Malinda Amakye pleaded with the IGP to intervene since she has the required documents covering the land so he sons can put up a structure for her to live in before her death.

“IGP since the President appointed you have done a lot of Ghana and I have been hearing it on the tv, radio I know you will do it for me. Dampare look at me, poor old lady. I am called Dede Nagaa Tagoe at Kokorbite. Please turn to me and save me.

“Dampare I cannot walk again. I have to walk from here to the main road for the past two month anytime I bring workers here they say the place is too far. So I have to take car in and out,” he appealed.

Her daughter Malinda Amakye accused the police of complicity in the matter vowing to do everything possible to repossess the land for the mother.

“DCOP Gariba at Central Police allowed Adiza to come to the land, the land doesn’t belong to her. So the girl has been saying that it’s COP Gariba who authorized her to come to the land and build and leave the old woman. Do you want us to die?” she asked.
