Historic as goalkeeper who saved Pelé’s penalty still keeps the ball

An 81-year-old goalkeeper who saved Pelé’s penalty, Sebastião Luiz Lourenço keeps the ball guarded: “I had this happiness. I was lucky enough to save a penalty kicked by Pelé.”

He was the number 1 of São Bento on 12, May 1971 in a game against Santos, a game that Peixe won 1-0, in Vila Belmiro, for the Paulista Championship.

He is the only goalkeeper alive who saved a penalty kick from Pelé.

The two started playing at the same time, at the age of 15.
