Honoris United Universities, the first pan-African private higher education platform, announces the accreditation of six new programmes at YKBS. As a leading private business school in Mauritius, YKBS now offers more than 20 degree and certificate programmes.
YKBS worked to adapt and accredit the six programmes from two other prestigious and well-known Honoris institutions: Regent Business School and MANCOSA, both in South Africa.
In achieving this national accreditation, Honoris’ and YKBS’ academic experiences were important differentiators. YKBS’ current programme offering includes specialist degrees in Management, Administration and Accounting.
The additional courses expand this to include business-critical subjects such as Social Media and Communications, Project Management, Information Technology and Retail Management.
Commenting, Luis Lopez, CEO of Honoris United Universities, said, “This accreditation by the Mauritian authorities reflects the quality of the programmes currently taught across our network, as well as the strength of Honoris’ collaborative academic engagements, leading to increased access to higher education in tandem with the very best curricula and learning tools.”
The newly accredited Higher Certificates will provide working professionals with a wider choice of developmental study programmes and enable employers to upskill their workforce through corporate training. YKBS is first educational institution (private or private & public) in Mauritius to launch a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management – an area of expertise that is of major importance in the corporate world and one that will serve to make working professionals significantly more competitive and impactful.
Managing Director of YKBS, Professor Reshad Jaumally commented on the benefit to employers, stating that,

About YKBS
YKBS was founded in 2002 as a private tertiary education institution, specialised in providing supported distance education at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in the fields of Business Administration and Management. The institution is based in the Highlands area since 2012.
In 2013, the institution also began to provide undergraduate programmes on a full-time mode of delivery.
