Former Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale, says former President John Mahama had only one family member in his administration.
According to him, the special aide to Mr Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, was the only relative he had in his government.
“Joyce Bawah, daughter of Mahama’s auntie was the only person related to him in his government, but she was qualified for the job and delivered as expected,” he told Accra based Peace FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
He said but for President Nana Akufo-Addo, several of his appointees are either his relatives or friends, adding that such practices only result in the slow pace of development in the country.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, November 5, released 51 names in government believed to be relatives and friends of President Akufo-Addo.
According to the NDC, Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party government has championed corruption through nepotism.
