Jerry John Rawlings who seized power twice in military coups but went on to bring democratic rule to Ghana died on Thursday at the age of 73.
Rawlings died on Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the capital, Accra, where he had been receiving treatment after a short illness.
But in the rightful thinking of Stephen Atubiga, an astute member of NDC’s communication team, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings should be blamed for Rawlings’ sudden demise.
According to Atubiga in an interview with Kofi Tv, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings made the late Rawlings passed through hell which contributed immensely to his sudden demise.
He noted that as part of the inhumane treatment given to Rawlings by his wife when he was alive, he was forced to forsake his established NDC party and followed Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to set up her own party – National Democratic Party (NDP).
So, he feels strongly that Konadu Agyemang Rawlings didn’t give kind and heartwarming treatment every husband deserves in his weak and old days to the late Jerry John Rawlings which can’t be ignored when reminiscing factors that called for Rawlings’ untimely demise.
