How A Son Kidnapped His Father And Collected GH¢57,000 As Ransom

The Kwara state police command has arrested a man named Issa Naigheti on charges that he kidnapped his father and demanded N2.5m in exchange.

Ajayi Okasanmi, a spokesman for the command, said that officers from the Kwara police command’s anti-kidnapping team caught the suspect in the Kambi neighborhood of Ilorin.

Naigheti is said to have admitted to the crime. Okasanmi said;

“When questioned, the suspect admitted that he and two other people had planned to kidnap his father, Bature Naigboho, in the Igboho/Igbeti area of Oyo State and get N2.5m in ransom.”

Okasanmi also said that the case would be moved to the state where the crime happened, which is Oyo.
