I warn politicians to refrain from exploiting the Bawku crisis for political gains — Indigene of Bawku, Baako Yussif warns politicians.

 

The chieftaincy dispute in Bawku, in the Upper East region of Ghana has been in the media domain for some months because of it nature of killing and destroying of properties.

It is alleged that this conflict started some years back with an informal agreement between the owners of the land (Mamprusis) and the (Kusasi) people, where the Kusasis were welcomed to the land even though there was no formal agreement between these parties.

In and interview with an Indigene of Bawku, Mr. Baako Yussif who is a potential Member of Parliament for the area, he expressed worries about how some politicians are exploiting from the ongoing crisis for a political gains.

Mr. Yussif the incoming MP for Bawku Central went ahead to warn politicians to refrain from such attitude but rather prioritize peace and allow traditional stakeholders to lead in solving the conflict.

“I warn politicians to refrain from exploiting the ongoing crisis in Bawku for political gain. Let’s prioritize peace and allow traditional stakeholders to lead in resolving this conflict” he stated.
