Ghanaian gospel musician Yaw Sarpong, disregards the harsh accusations made by my ex-wife. The man whose music has touched a lot of souls over the last 40 years, is now sick, and in his predicament, the ex wife has dragged him to a radio station for further investigation.
Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong has addressed recent allegations made by his ex-wife, Adwoa Pinamang.
He clarified that their marriage ended 20 years ago when Pinamang left him and their children. In a radio interview, Pinamang accused Sarpong’s family of preventing her from caring for him during his illness and claimed that Tiwaa, a female vocalist, had taken Sarpong from her with the family’s help.
Despite their long separation, Pinamang insists they are still married, arguing that they have never officially divorced and she should be considered his legitimate wife.
However, Yaw Sarpong stated that their marriage was never legally formalized and thus did not require a legal divorce. He explained that the union only involved traditional rites, including the presentation of a Bible, soft drinks, and a ring.
Sarpong recounted that Pinamang abandoned him and their children and moved to Kumasi during a time when he was seriously ill.
He noted that they have not communicated in the past two decades, making her recent attempts to reconnect unexpected.
