I’m determined to ‘marry’ Volta region – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has reacted to concerns by the National Democratic Congress’s Communications Director for the Volta Region Kafui Agbleze over why he and the Vice President are frequenting the region.

The President responded to the comment when he addressed the Chiefs and People of Adaklu in the Volta Region as part of his one day tour of the Region by saying, the NDC Volta Regional Communications Director doesn’t understand his determination to get the Volta Region on his side.

“I heard that the other day, the spokesperson of the National Democratic Congress in the Volta Region said that the Vice President and myself were coming too often to the Volta Region and that we are trying to reap where we have not sown,” President Akufo-Addo said.

In a direct jab at Mr. Agbleze, President Akufo-Addo said “I think that the spokesperson doesn’t know about a man who is determined to marry a woman. You will continue to go to the house and you go and go and go. So that is what I am determined to do. I am determined to marry the people of the Volta Region and I going to come here as often as is necessary until I get them”.

Paramount Chief of the Adaklu Traditional Area, Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, in his address assured the President that the people of Adaklu are determined to main the peace their traditional area is currently enjoying now ahead of election 2020. He was also hopeful that the President’s agenda of Roads for the year 2020 will be felt by the people of Adaklu.

“We assure you excellency that we will continue to keep the peace prevailing in the Adaklu traditional area especially during this election year and beyond” Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V stated.
