Nana Yaw Donkor Jill, an independent candidate for the Asunafo North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, has officially announced his intention to run in the 2024 parliamentary elections. He addressed the media, expressing concerns about the lack of support for peasant farmers in the area under the leadership of both the NPP and NDC since 1992.
Nana Yaw Donkor introduced his initiative, “The Farmer First in Asunafo North,” which aims to provide significant support to local farmers through effective lobbying both locally and internationally. “It is disheartening that in every household within the constituency, you find a farmer who lacks the necessary support. My farming programme will offer the extensive assistance they need,” he stated.
In an interview with Francis Agyapong Nimpong, our reporter in the Ahafo Region, Nana Yaw Donkor highlighted the critical issue of youth unemployment in the constituency.
He vowed to create more jobs if elected as MP, pointing to his existing efforts that have already employed several youth in Asunafo North. He also assured the youth of rolling out a youth apprenticeship programme to unearth their potentials in various disciplines within the constituency.
Furthermore, Nana Yaw Donkor pledged massive support for traders, including financial assistance and seminars designed to guide them in their business endeavors.
Born and raised in Goaso, Nana Yaw Donkor Jill is a prominent farmer, private surveyor, and businessman in the Ahafo Region. His political experience includes serving as an Electoral Area coordinator for the NPP and as an Assembly member for Ahenboboano in Goaso.
